New arrangements for school from 23rd March
As you will know the government has taken the decision to close schools from the end of today (Friday 20th March). From Monday 23rd March schools will provide childcare for vulnerable children and the children of key workers.
If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.
Vulnerable children include children who are supported by social care, those with safeguarding and welfare needs (including child in need plans, or child protection plans), ‘looked after’ children, young carers, disabled children and those with education, health and care (EHC) plans.
If your child is vulnerable and is not on this list please contact your Headteacher.
If your work is critical to the COVID-19 response , or you work in one of the critical sectors listed on the key worker list on the attached letter and you cannot keep you child safe at home then your child will be prioritised for education provision. Many parents working in these sectors may still be able to ensure that their child is kept at home and every child who can be safely cared for at home should be.
Attached are letters from the Trust and Sheffield City Council proving more information on the arrangements.
We will be issuing a separate letter regarding exams once we have details of the exams and assessments for GCSE and A Level students.
